Kishanganj Police recently carried out a major crackdown against illegal activities and fake GST-based coal smuggling operations in the district. During a week-long operation, police seized 16 coal-loaded trucks and arrested 12 accused persons allegedly linked to the illegal transportation network. Officials stated that the action was part of a broader campaign against organized smuggling and financial fraud activities in the region.
The operation created significant discussion across Bihar because of the large number of vehicles involved and the alleged use of fake documentation for transporting coal. Police teams conducted checking drives at multiple locations in Kishanganj and intensified surveillance on highway routes connected to neighboring districts. Authorities said investigations are continuing to identify more people connected to the racket and strengthen monitoring of illegal transport activities in the Seemanchal region.
